Kaleidoscope Collection is a one-night event in celebration of the Southern Monmouth summer of 2010. Included in the exhibit are artists and performers who have come to know and love this wonderful place that we call home. Kaleidoscope Collection is a mixed media event exhibiting art, music, design and film in an attempt to capture the spirit of this place and cultivate creativity among the youth. These artists are unified in their appreciation and understanding of the unique character of the Jersey Shore. This motif is exemplified individually and collectively within their work. Come out and support these artists who have absorbed the energy of the area and responded to it with unique individuality.

Artist Chris Georgalas recently purchased a carload of old  silkscreens from RadCakes in order to use them for his multimedia works. Above is Goergalas’ piece, “All I Needed to Know in Life I Learned in The Ocean”, which was created with two RadCakes silkscreens. Although it’s difficult to see what the bottom silkscreen was previously used for, you can clearly see that the top silkscreen was used for the SummerTime Surf camper shirts.

On Wednesday, July 14th at 7:30pm, make sure to check out Chris Georgalas’ art opening at John Allan’s Downtown Location in New York City. There will be artwork for sale, live painting, live music, and plenty of recycled RadCakes silkscreens!

In mid-June, the FIT Surf Team made the trek out to California to compete in the NSSA Nationals.

Team Highlights include: Justin and Sebastian made it to the semi-finals. The team placed 8th overall, and finishes the season ranked 2nd on the East Coast in the Collegiate division.

Congrats to everyone for making it out to Cali and for putting in a solid effort. Thanks for asking RadCakes to design and print your T’s!

Amanda, Jess, and Rachel have helped organize the event after their recent trip to India. While in India, the three volunteered in an orphanage that works closely with Empower the Children.
